Mensans welcomed at Biomedical Research Day

News image

As part of our popular Science & Arts Days we held a Biomedical Research Day at the Wellcome Collection in London on 27 April. It was a sell out with over 80 members entertained by speakers Mark Henderson and Susanna Bidgood.

Mark, a leading science journalist who is Head of Communications at the Wellcome Trust, spoke on some of the recent advances in Biomedical Research. Susanna, a researcher for the Medical Research Council, led on her specialism intercellular immunity or why we still fall ill. Both speakers took part in excellent Q&A sessions with members; who posed some challenging questions!

Members then had the opportunity to take a tailor-made guided tour around two fascinating exhibitions ‘Medicine Man’ and ‘Medicine Now’.

Thanks to member Suravi Chatterjee who compiled the programme for this event. If you have an idea for an event you think members would enjoy please contact Bobby Raikhy at Mensa HQ: bobby@mensa.org.uk or +44(0)1902 772 771 (option 4).
