Mensa chosen to appear on local edition of famous board game

Wolverhampton Monopoly - Mensa

Today (9 October) saw the launch of the Wolverhampton Edition of the classic board game Monopoly which features 22 city landmarks including British Mensa. John Stevenage, CEO, attended the launch at Wolverhampton Grammar School (pictured) with representatives of other landmarks on the board.

Although British Mensa has over 21,000 members across the British Isles they have a long association with Wolverhampton. Their headquarters have been based in city for many years, with the majority of their staff hailing from the local area.

Earlier in the year, when news that a board would be produced was announced, the great Wolverhampton public was invited to vote as to which city property landmarks should be selected to swap places with the famous London sites and sights. Thank you to all those that suggested Mensa’s inclusion.

“British Mensa are delighted to have been invited to join the Wolverhampton Monopoly Board. Although our organisation reaches across the British Isles our headquarters have been based in Wolverhampton for over 40 years so we are very much part of the city.” John Stevenage, British Mensa CEO

The brand new Monopoly: Wolverhampton Edition is now available online – as well as at the following retailers: Smyths, Toys R Us, Waitrose, WH Smith, The Works and Waterstones.
