Congratulations to Ch4’s Child Genius winner

Shrindhi Prakash Child Genius

Last night (Tuesday 2 July) Shrinidhi Prakash became the winner of Channel 4’s Child Genius. She took part in four rounds of competition which included logic, mathematics, spelling and debating.

Aged 11 Shrinidhi is a fan of Countdown and the World Under-12 Scrabble Champion. She currently lives in Orpington, Kent and enjoys writing novels in her spare time and attends an after-school creative writing group. She describes herself as ‘bookworm, Artemis Fowl fan, word fanatic, professional scrabble player, writer and poet.'

Shrinidhi is one of 21 gifted children to take part in the series, all of whom showed a great deal of talent and highlighted the support that our most gifted children need.

British Mensa's Gifted Child Consultant, Lyn Kendall said
"During the making of the series two things became clear. Firstly, how grounded and polite the majority of the children were and secondly how elated they were to find children of similar ability who shared a speed of thinking, sense of humour and a love of learning. The support and care that they showed for each other was amazing."
