The employability of people with autism was in the spotlight at an exclusive Mensa event in London.

Auticon, a recruitment consultancy which actively seeks to find opportunities for autistic people, hosted the packed event at The Foundry in London.

The company has identified the unique value of highly intelligent people who think differently, and spotted that the same issues that can be seen as ‘problematic” when dealing with autism can also make for exceptional workers who have outstanding abilities when it comes to analysing and solving logical problems.

Speakers included Dr Anna Remington, from UCL’s Centre for Research in Autism and Education, Bruno Igreja, a Virgin investment manager, and Ray Coyle, the CEO of Auticon.

Profits from the evening will be donated to Ambitious About Autism, the national charity for children and young people with autism.
