About Joe:

Joe has been Head of the Cyber Resilience Centre since the summer of 2016. He has extensive security experience in the UK, both in a national security and a law enforcement context, and he was the first Head of Operations of the National Technical Assistance Centre (NTAC), now part of GCHQ. He is one of the National Cyber Security Centre’s senior stakeholders, and is a member of the NCSC Oversight Board. Joe also has extensive international experience, having spent a decade in North America, working with both government and industry. He spent several years as a diplomat, specialising in security liaison with senior allied partners; then as an advisor to the Canadian government and parliament on a range of national security issues; and then as head of security in the North American energy sector.

Joe has had the privilege of working with a number of exceptionally talented individuals in the course of his career, both in the UK and overseas, to solve a range of intricate problems in order to keep the public safe. His talk will focus both on problem solving and on recruiting and working with gifted individuals in order to support the national interest.
