Bill Twigg City and Guilds (CGLI)

 

Currently responsible for engagement with relevant Government departments / agencies and membership organisations in England and support devolved Nation and International related to vocational education and skills development. Key initiatives include supporting City and Guilds End Point Assessment Service transition to meet the new Government Apprenticeship policy requirements.

Bill’s background is an accomplished Engineering and Education specialist; experienced Strategic Director and hands-on practitioner with 20+ years’ experience in training engineers.

Diverse accomplishments include securing high-level agreements with major organisations and government, the establishment and provision of outstanding apprentice training to degree level, responsibility for National Occupational Standards, and the negotiation of £multi-million training and project funding. Fully conversant with STEM projects from primary school level to universities, many incorporating manufacturing industry. Experience of leading a highly-skilled, qualified team, and the management of robust relationships with many leaders within British Industry in meeting their skills needs.

The first Chair of the RDI Licensing Body at its incorporation and launch in March 2006, and was prominent in driving forward the actions needed to achieve the aims and objectives of one of the country’s first Community Interest Companies.
