Annie Quigley Owner Bibliophile Ltd. By Appointment to The Late H.R.H The Duke of Edinburgh Booksellers London. Book Buyer, Editor and grantee of a Royal Warrant Bookseller to the late Duke of Edinburgh

Annie is a bookseller, publisher, literary agent and is also an entrepreneur, an employer, a buyer, an editor, a publisher, a digital publisher and marketeer.

When her late boss was dying in 1992, he made a unique offer for Annie to buy the business "Bibliophile". In less than two years she had quadrupled the business and has never looked back. 30 years later she has developed "Bibliophile" into the largest independent book club in the UK with over 60,000 active members who buy from the mail-order catalogue and website Bibliophile despatches 1.5 million books a year. Annie is the buyer, editor, reviewer and each month selects quality books from all the major publishers and introduces over 150 new titles to add to the 2000 stocked inventory.  Covid has brought renewed success and a new social aspect to the service.

In January 2011 she was granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh. In July 2013, Bibliophile’s first pop-up bookshop was in the grounds of Buckingham Palace for the Coronation Festival where 300 entrepreneurial Royal Warrant holders, all with this “Peerage for Trade”, exhibited their crafts and wares.

As a businesswoman, Annie has had to become familiar with finance and accounting, systems, technology, digital content, logistics, marketing, and also helps her customer service staff by manning the phones when they are under pressure, or replying to the many curious letters her book loving customers send her. The YouTube channel bibliophilebooks now hosts over 1,000 of her video book reviews.
