A student from Swansea made all the right connections when he won a Mensa challenge at his university.

British Mensa ran a Connections Challenge promotion at Fulton House, Swansea University, to highlight the benefits of joining the international organisation for those with a high IQ.

The winner of the competition was first year business management student Joe Paish, pictured with Mensa Cymru publicity officer Jackie Lyndon.

Joe said he would be challenging his housemates to play the Mensa Connections board game he won!

Being a Mensa member is a great way for those who move to a new area after leaving uni to make new friends and meet like-minded people at events such as pub nights, quizzes, sports challenges and regional gatherings, as well being able to contact international members and stay nearly anywhere in the world whilst travelling.

To take the Mensa supervised test, which costs £24.95, book at http://www.mensa.org.uk/why-people-join-mensa

Future test dates in South Wales include The Big Sleep Hotel, Cardiff this Saturday (February 28), Swansea YMCA on May 30 and the Park Inn Hotel in Cardiff City Centre on April 11, June 13 and August 15.
