British Mensa now has its own YouTube channel, where we will be sharing videos from our events and lecture series.

Child Genius

Amazing feats of mental agility from some of the sharpest young minds in the country will be showcased on national television as Channel 4’s popular Child Genius programme returns to our screens.

The third series of the programme, which sees 20 children aged between eight and 12 battle it out across a range of mental agility tests, starts on Tuesday (June 30) at 9pm on Channel 4.

Mensa’s gifted child consultant Lyn Kendall acts as an advisor to the programme.

Gerard Heaney and Karen Tomkins at WLR FM

Irish Mensa took centre stage during a radio interview in Waterford last weekend.

Gerard Heaney, Irish Mensa southern publicity officer and southern area officer, took part in a live interview on the Saturday Cafe with Karen Tomkins of WLR FM.

During the interview, which lasted about 20 minutes, Ger talked about Mensa and the activities of Mensans in Ireland.

Mensa HQ provided some radio friendly puzzle questions and prizes. There was quite a bit of public interaction and the interview was well received.

Francesca receives her commemorative paperweight from board member Ian Fergus

 

Leading barrister Francesca Quint has become an honorary president of British Mensa.

Francesca, a long-serving Mensan and former board member, was married to Mensa founder Lance Ware for 20 years until his death in 2000.

She accepted the invitation to become honorary president at a dinner in London to mark the 100th anniversary of Dr Ware’s birth.
