Smart quizzers are being sought for two BBC television shows.

Make Me an Egghead, which will find two new regular panellists for the BBC2 hit Eggheads, and new show Debatable, which will also be screened on BBC2, are both looking for knowledgeable and confident contestants to take part.

Hosted by Jeremy Vine, Make Me an Egghead is a nationwide search to find one man and one woman who are good enough to join the Eggheads, considered the UK’s most fearsome quiz team.

The winner of each show will move into the next heat.  The series concludes in a grand final, with the winner becoming an Egghead on the next series.

Meanwhile, production company Hungry Bear Media are looking for contestants for the new show Debatable, hosted by Patrick Kielty.

Contestants will face a series of tricky questions, but they won’t be alone - three celebrities will be debating the answers live in the studio with them.

For both shows, contestants must be aged 18 or over.

To apply for Make Me an Egghead, email makemeanegghead@12yard.com or write to Make Me an Egghead, 12 Yard Productions, The Hub G7, 70 Pacific Quay, Glasgow G51 1DZ before June 15.

For Debatable, email applydebatable@hungrybear.tv or call 0203 8415942.

Application details for both shows are also at www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/takepart/
