Gordon Matson, a Mensa Member from Aberdeen, appeared as a competitor in the first episode of the new series of the Krypton Factor which aired on the 1 January 2009.

Gordon said of the experience ‘going into the studio was absolutely nerve-wracking but the whole experience was a real adventure. The most enjoyable part of the studio experience was the intelligence round where we were given a jigsaw type puzzle to complete and we could only see the puzzle on a TV monitor where the directions had been switched to make left appear as right.’

The show is a contemporary version of the original Krypton Factor first shown in the 1980s, and is aired on ITV. It features challenging rounds such as Mental Agility, Intelligence, Observation, General Knowledge and Physical Ability.
