Mensa IQ Test - Beware of Online Imitations! . . .

03-Jan-10

British Mensa is aware of several websites claiming to offer online 'Mensa IQ tests'. Online IQ tests can be a lot of fun to do and, in some cases, the results can be highly accurate.

However, many of these websites are operating without approval from Mensa in the UK and in direct breach of Mensa's trademark. Where the society is able to locate the website owners, it is instructing them to remove reference to Mensa.

More importantly, British Mensa is concerned that members of the public may be misled into thinking they are taking an official Mensa Supervised IQ Test

British Mensa does not currently operate an online IQ test and is unable to accept online test results as evidence for membership to the society.

Membership of Mensa is open to anyone who has an IQ score in the top two per cent of the population, measured by a recognised IQ test. This can be through prior evidence of testing, a psychologist's report, or by taking part in a Mensa Supervised IQ Test session.
