Mensa’s Gifted Child Consultant on School Performance Tables

23-Feb-12

British Mensa’s Gifted Child Consultant, Lyn Kendall responds to GT Voice’s policy statement on Primary and Secondary School Performance Tables.

“As someone who fought long and hard in the 1990s to make the education of intellectually able children part of the national agenda, I have watched with dismay the recent dismantling of the bodies and structures put in place to support that agenda. I have also been delighted at the coming together of many of the support groups for gifted children under the ‘GT Voice’ umbrella. Real experts with real experience are what are needed to move provision forward for our most able youngsters.

"I would like to add my G&T voice to their comments in the hope that we can leave behind what always was ineffectual lip service to the G&T agenda and start providing some real life provision for real life children.”
